Service

What is a Wired Network?
Each apartment has up to three network ports installed. You'll need to order a Internet Access Device to get connected to Techfish.
What is a WiFi Router?
You will require a Techfish WiFi router to connect to our network and to connect your phone / laptop / tablet to the internet.
If you have your own WiFi router, please check with us for compatibility before you connect it to the network.
What devices can I connect?
> You can connect your phone, tablet, or laptop.
> Desktop computers may need a WiFi dongle to connect.
> Only one (1) connection form your WiFi router to Techfish is allowed.
Can I game over the network
You can, but our service is not designed for heavy gaming.
What is your service designed for?
Our service is more for browsing the internet, viewing emails and working online. Our service is built to assist students with their studies.
Speed
Data speeds and latency may be affected by factors outside of Techfish's control or demand for bandwidth at any given time.

Contact Data

Contract Period
Our contracts are month to month, but you need to give us one month notice.
When do I get my monthly data?
Your new data gets loaded at midnight on the 1st of each month.
What happens to my unused data?
Unused data expires at midnight on the 1st of the new month. Unused data does not roll over.
Can I top-up?
Yes! Our top-ups are priced the same as our contract package's prices.
Does top-up data expire?
Yes, it expires at midnight of the 1st day of the new month.
When do I pay for my monthly data?
We'll send a invoice on the 25th or 26th of each month, the invoice is due on the 1st of the new month. If it's not paid before or on the 1st, we'll suspend your service until it's paid.
Once off signup fee
All Contract packages includes a once off contract signup fee of R485.00. This includes a WiFi Router.
Billing
> All packages are billed one month in advance.
> If you signup before the 20th, you'll only pay for the month you signup in (and the once off signup fee.)
> If you signup before the 20th of the month, we'll only charge you for that month's data + the once off signup fee.
> If you signup on 23 March for example, we'll charge the full service fee for April + the remainder of March + the once off service fee.
